Grain Puffs - Alternative: brown rice
2. Oatmeal -
Plain, no other ingredients! Steel cut, rolled, multi…any
type. Alternative: Potatoes (any type, but no oil….just
microwave or bake), beans, lentils, quinoa, or corn.
3. Salmon –
Canned, tear open pouch, fresh or frozen. Alternative: sardines
or any fish with scales and fins.
4. Egg whites
– Hard boiled or scrambled, but no yolk. Yes – use
hot sauce. Alternative: beef (once a week only), chicken (hormone
free), or powdered whey protein.
5. Banana –
You can freeze it and eat the peel, too. Just scrape the thin
outer layer and eat the rest, peel included.
6. Apple –
An apple a day keeps the doctor away...
7. Citrus –
An orange, grapefruit, lemon or lime. Alternative: berries of
any type.
8. Dark green
leafy vegetables - Spinach, kale, mustard greens, collard greens,
arugula. Just break open a bag of pre-washed spinach and eat
it like potato chips. Yeah baby!
9. Assorted vegetables
– Raw and unpeeled. Try broccoli, cauliflower, sprouts,
beets (peel this one), radishes, carrots, peas, cucumbers, squash,
brussel sprouts (bake these guys), etc. And yes, tomatoes, too.
10. Yogurt –
Non fat, no added sugar. Alternative: Almond milk – 30
cals per cup only.
